In order to reach specific customers and satisfy their unique needs, entrepreneurs must identify those people and understand their every want, desire and motivation. It is not enough to simply target the general population, as this will result in your business not resonating strongly with the specific people who are interested in what you have to offer. That is why it is extremely important to find out everything about the customers you intend to pursue as you must cater directly to their wants, needs and values. 4. Develop an identity that visually expresses the brand essence

Your identity should be demonstrated through elements of the business such as the name, logo, business cards, newsletters, website design, email signoffs, interior décor, signage, typefaces and other business related collateral.
