I am not sure if you have been reading the comments about the dresses in the final of the Myer fashions on the field on the Myer facebook Page. These poor ladies were bashed by “real” consumers. Don’t take the risk and before you head to the races have a quick look through the tips on beauty and what to wear. You have to look Chic!

TRENDS:

As usual: hats, vintage dress, ‘70s Style – this stay valid every year. But let’s take a look at the details.

Styling Tips:

1. Dress

Length at or below the knee. You really can look sexy without showing off too much. Look at the Louis Vuitton dress to know what I mean.
Vintage style is always a great choice but make sure it is a vintage style and not a 30-years-old dress from your grandmothers closet.
Fabrics and design: checks, spots and stripes, bold colours, go for something intensive and contrasting, florals are always good, make sure the fabric is of finest quality
Alternatively: wide-legged pants and tucked-in blouse

2. Hat:

It has to be comfortable and not overwhelming. You don’t want to look like you have just came back from Halloween Party. Look at the Emporio Armani hats for 2012 Summer/Spring Season.

3. Shoes:

Platform wedges are stylish and comfortable; stiletto heels (even though they look great) are not the best choice if you will be spending your time on the grass whole day. A big fashion NO, never ever take your heels off and wake barefoot it’s very unattractive and not classy at all.

4. Bag
Aim for a hand-free option: long handle bag with chain handle or a flat clutch that you can easily tuck under your arm when you are sipping champagne and placing bets. Choose something like this Trussardi Bag.

5.Sunglasses & sunscreen
Oversized sunnies look best for a chic style. Sunscreen is a must, it not only protects your skin from looking like a crab but it is also the best anti-aging advice I could ever give you. Go for KIEHL’S Ultra Light Daily UV Defense with SPF 50 PA. it’s is very light and powerful.

And the most important advice: have fun, drink moderate and keep you heels on your feet.

Make sure that you’re betting smart.
